Description of Alternative Teaching
Alternative teaching is when one of the teachers pulls a small group of students for either a small period of time or the whole teaching period to either provide similar instruction or to provide targeted instruction. This model should be used about 20% of the time.

- Re-teaching or remediation
- Enrichment or extension
- Pre-teaching
- Instructional make-up time for students who have been absent
- Assessment of student learning
- Management of student behavior (student struggling with behavior paired with students with model behavior)
