Description of Parallel Teaching
In this model, the students are divided in half and then, each of the teachers provide instruction in one of three potential uses. This model should be used about 25% of the time. This approach helps to establish a strong relationship between the two teachers. It also allows for high-quality differentiation.
Caution(s): classroom noise level (teachers need to maintain low voices and minimize classroom noise), strategic positioning (back-to-back is ideal), caution to not create high/low groups and stigmas, both teachers need to be comfortable with the material being taught.
